The questions practice owners, office managers and patients ask most.
The basics
What is Dauntless Solutions?
We design and support dental warranty programs for practices, including the practice-owned reinsurance company behind them. We coordinate setup, train your team and stay with you after launch.
Is a dental warranty the same as dental insurance?
No. Insurance pays toward care in general. A warranty covers the practice’s own restorative work if it fails under the written terms.
What procedures can be covered?
Programs commonly cover crowns, bridges, implant restorations, veneers and inlays or onlays. Your program sets the exact list.
How long does coverage last?
Terms vary by program and procedure. Each patient’s certificate states the term in writing.
For practice owners
What does my team need to do?
Present the warranty during treatment planning, collect the fee, and keep patients on recall. We provide the training and scripts.
Who handles claims?
An experienced program administrator processes claims and handles reporting, so your team isn’t managing paperwork.
How long does setup take?
It depends on your structure and paperwork. We’ll give you a timeline at your program review.
Can multi-location groups participate?
Yes. A group can run one standard program across offices.
Money and taxes
What does it cost?
Costs depend on practice size and structure. We model the numbers with you before you commit to anything.
Are there tax advantages?
Some reinsurance structures receive specific tax treatment, and they also carry strict IRS requirements. We don’t give tax advice — we work with your CPA so the structure is reviewed properly.
What happens to money not paid in claims?
Over time it builds as reserves and underwriting profit in the reinsurance company the owner controls, subject to the program’s terms and requirements.
For patients
How do I file a claim?
Contact the office that did your work. They or the program administrator will walk you through it.
What if I move?
Many programs allow covered work at a participating dentist elsewhere. Check your certificate or ask your original office.
What could void my warranty?
Usually skipped recall visits, damage from accidents, or work done by another office. Your certificate lists the details.
Answers here are general. Your program agreement and each patient’s certificate control the actual terms.
